To further complicate everything, she has a darling baby, a baby she’s taken with her when she travels to help her friend. Yes, Austin is married and happily so, though her husband isn’t thrilled with her playing detective. Of course, the inevitable happens! She’s quickly drawn into the investigation, despite her husband’s warning not to involve herself. Loyal to her friend, Larissa, who is suspected of a murder, Austin flies to Vancouver to show her support. Having vivid memories of all that went on during the late ‘60s, I have to say Kendall has done a great job weaving all of the emotions of the times into the story.Īustin Starr is a terrific heroine.
The setting is mainly Vancouver, but also Seattle in 1969 and focuses on the women’s liberation movement which is an integral part of the plot. There is a lot to love in this Austin Starr mystery.
